Xbox Series X or Series S: which one should you buy in the UAE?
, by la3eb, 3 min reading time
Series X at AED 2,654 or Series S at AED 1,979? The real differences in power, storage, discs and the TV you own, with UAE prices.
Both current Xbox consoles play the same games, use the same controller and share the same Game Pass library. The AED 675 difference between them buys you three things: more graphics power, a disc drive and a bigger, quieter console. Here is how to decide, with la3eb.ae prices at the time of writing and free delivery across the uae and saudi arabia

Buy the Series X if
- You own or plan to buy a 4K TV. The Series X renders most games at native 4K; the Series S upscales from 1440p.
- You buy physical games. Discs are often cheaper than digital in the UAE, and you can resell them. The Series S cannot read them.
- You want the console to last. Big 2026 releases such as GTA 6 and Forza Horizon 6 will look and run better on the X.
- You watch 4K Blu-rays. The X doubles as a UHD player.
Buy the Series S if
- Your TV is 1080p or 1440p, or you game on a monitor. The extra power of the X is wasted there.
- You mainly use Game Pass. A digital library does not need a disc drive.
- Space and noise matter. The S is small enough for a shelf and runs quiet.
- Budget matters more than visuals. AED 1,979 for a console with the full current library is the best entry price in the Xbox range.
The hidden cost: games and controllers
Whichever console you choose, the rest of the setup costs the same. Xbox games on la3eb currently sit between AED 128 and AED 351, for example Gears of War: E-Day at AED 218 and Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree at AED 224. A second controller starts at AED 171 for the Robot White or Black controller, with special editions such as Gold Shadow at AED 269. See Xbox Series X|S games and Xbox controllers.
